I told my daughter once, "I'm not a genius, just a person with the ability to see the obvious." But in reality, we all see the obvious, whether or not we realize it, the truth is in every one of us. We are all dissatisfied with the way things are, and we all know how to change them. Here is something that I would like to see change.
We have technologies that sit on a shelf for an average of twenty years beyond what we all know, purchase, and use. We accept what business hands us and all their excuses for why it doesn't work, doesn't last, or isn't the best or state of the art product that they could be selling us.
If the average consumer drove the market, we'd all have the newest and best products, and they'd all cost a dollar. If consumers drove the market there would not have been $4/gallon gas in Houston, TX, of all places. If consumers drove the market, Wal-Mart would carry the array of products they used to carry and they would actually be the cheapest price. If consumers drove the direction of the market, we'd be in space, no product would be arbitrarily unhealthy or dangerous, and no product or service would ever pollute.
No one wants to breath tainted air, drink chemically infused water, or have to test their kids toys for defects or poisons. No one wants a substandard product, to ever pay more than something is actually worth, or one they know unnecessarily harms life or the environment. And regardless of what they would have us believe, I have never met a single person that was happy about a new strip mall where an orchard used to be, well except for the a**hole that put it there.
If we know something is bad, defective, or substandard, let's quit buying or supporting it. Let's boycott the TV & Radio channels, businesses, and manufacturers that don't deliver the product or services the way that we expect. Someone should have to work as hard to get the money out of my pocket as I did to get it in there, and if you are getting paid by me, I'm the boss.
It is time to quit accepting what they choose to give us and start demanding what we want. We are the People, we have the Power, start controlling your world again, don't accept theirs!
