What it takes to do what I'm doin...
My friends and my family have been giving me a lot of grief over the decisions I've had to make to run for Texas Governor.  Let me catch you up on all that has transpired...

I started this in Sept 2008, I tried to get a Computer savvy buddy that owed me $1600 for 2 years to make the website and host it on his personally owned servers for 3 months, and his debt would have been paid in full.  I can get a Professional Campaign website designer to do my site for $350 and host it with all the bells-and-whistles for $179/month.  That means I could have gotten a total stranger that I didn't help move his entire house 3 times, to make the site and host it for 7 months.  Needless to say, he still owes me $1600.

In Sep 2008, Hurricane Ike put an Oak Tree through the Travel Trailer I was supposed to make my home, you know, the one I had just purchased a month before with every last dime I had scrimped and saved for 2 years from my $26,000/year job to buy.  Needless to say, I don't have a home anymore.

In Feb 2009 I began contacting the different State Agencies that I would need to do for my campaign.  Turns out I missed a very vital one, now my name is going to have to be on the write-In Ballot.  It's not really that big of an issue, I wouldn't have gotten all the signatures I needed to be placed on the Official Ballot anyway.  However, the PR, that just getting my name considered for the 4 months that it would take to not-get-the-signatures, would have been beneficial, to say the least.

By Sep 2009 I had been able to save enough money to start my campaign, albeit, a very slow, bare-bones start, but enough to begin my Trans-Texas Fact Finding Tour.  To do this, I had to quit my job, not a problem, two companies guaranteed me employment when I arrived back home in the middle of December.  They both went belly-up by the time I got back to Houston, and, except for a few days here and there, I've been without a job ever since.
In my Utopian Delusion, I actually thought that people would identify with the things I was trying to do for Texas and were seriously tired of the game as it's been played for too long.  After all, on my T-TFF Tour, virtually everyone I talked to wanted no part of the Democratic or Republican Parties or their Candidates.  So imagine my surprise when no one contributed to my Campaign, to date, not one Dime.  Oh, bunchesl people and several organizations have contacted me asking me to endorse them, or help them, or adopt this or that to my Platform, but they all want it for free.  Some of them actually asked me for money, go figure.

Now let's add in the time it took to gather, collate, and publish the Data and subsequent pages on my site, yes, the biggest campaign site in history.  Because I will only bring the truth when I make my points, I have to research and find all the Data and check the sources for everything.  The few things I put as Data, are just the tip of the iceberg, I have ten times that in folders on my computer.  To do this properly, I have to check every source or pool enough different and competing  sources to assure that the Data is at least the accepted truth.

Here are some examples:

The CPS Reform page began with me reading an 87 page report, checking several links and websites, several emails, and then editing that same report and publishing it on my website.  All told, it took me 8 days total from beginning to end, the labor alone was five 10 hour days.

"What has Governor Perry REALLY done for Texas", took an entire day, and that was a simple edit job with most of the Data already in my computer.

I have been working on, and refining my Energy & Transportation plans since I started this in Sep 2008.  After dozens of inquiries, dozens of emails, dozens of phone calls, and hours of research from TV, People, and the internet, it is still not completely done.  More time was spent on just that part of the site than anything else.

Right now I have spent 4 months of 10 hour days to research, formulate, and create this site.  I spent another 3 weeks traveling all over Texas, gathering info and introducing myself to people.  I have done what no one in modern history has done, maybe ever, to run for a Political position, you think that would at least get me some news coverage, but no.

So, I understand why my friends and family think I'm nuts for doing this, and especially, for continuing to do this now that I am broke, homeless, and unemployed.  But, I truly believe that my "Plan" will help save Texas, America, and the world.  If something is right and necessary, we should give everything we have to make it happen.

I am truly dedicated to trying to change the negative direction we have taken lately, to bring back some personal control and common sense, and if I make any difference at all, this will have all been worth it.  And if I fail, no one can ever say that I didn't do my best, or sacrificed my all, to do what I believed in for the People of Texas.  I have no shame in my decision and all that I have lost to make it happen.

So from my truck in a Whataburger parking lot in East Houston, yall have a great day, and try to do something good for Texas and your fellow citizen.
