Big Business is Ruining America or How Radio Talk Show Hosts Talk Sh...
Here we are in an economic nightmare, our country has passed the 200 year Democracy Longevity mark, and we are showing all the classic signs of an "impending Empire collapse"...

...and in a country that is lagging behind every industrialized nation in education, we put our emphasis on all-out Financial Success.

At last report, 39% of all American IT jobs are being done by Legal Residents - Immigrants and Work Visa holders, most of those from India. The companies would love to hire Americans, but can't find enough qualified applicants. You see, our youth would rather sell drugs, have indiscriminate sex, and own all the amenities by age 25 that used to take a person a lifetime to accrue. Americans, and especially our youth, don't hold much stock in education, after all, success in this country is measured in dollars, fame, and power. There is no glory in knowledge, manners, or pride in one's work. You only go to college to play ball as an audition for professional sports.

Okay, so a lot of kids really do go for the opportunity to get an education so they can take over a company and get obscenely rich. Just listen to any "Conservative" Talk Show Host and they will tell you that American Capitalism was always about a man being able to charge whatever he wanted for a product or service. It has nothing to do with pride, integrity, fairness, or just plain common sense. Why if I can sell you a substandard product for an absurd price and get on the Fortune 500 list in six months, I am a poster child for how our system works! Besides, we have the "Supply and Demand" principle, you know, when businesses cut off the supply until the consumer pays what the business demands. This mentality is not only a perversion of what our system started out to be, it is self-destructive.

First point - Big Business is not good for business. 80% of all workers in America are employed by small businesses, the rest are split between government, big corporations, and illegal income jobs, like prostitution, drugs, etc. It is estimated that over 12% are employed nationwide by government, disregard the illegal income jobs, and the big corporations employ 7 - 8.5% of Americans. So the next time one of your Radical Right Wing Radio Talk Show Hosts rants about how good National Corporations are for America, remember who isn't giving you a job, oh but they sure suck up all the money, don't they. Just remember 95% of the money in America is made by 5% of the people, and it ain't the employees that are making it.

Point #2 - It is those same mega-corporations that helped destroy our economy. From the Oil Giants to Investment Firms to Banks to Mortgage Companies to Insurance Firms to Giant Discount Retailers, all of them had a hand in destroying our countries future. But hey, they made a good profit doing it, so they are successful American Entrepreneurs, right? It isn't their fault that the games they were playing with our money gutted America. It isn't their fault that when we elected businessmen as politicians they removed the safeguards that were put in place 70 years ago to keep the Great Depression from happening again. It isn't their fault that these, so called, "Best and the Brightest", highly educated Wizards followed the exact same course that led to that depression. No, they are the victims, which is why we spent $780+ bill to bail them out.

Let's put some icing on this cake...

There is an old saying about a conspiracy, if you want to find the guilty party, follow the money. Look to see who got paid, who benefited from the crime. We know it wasn't the American People and we know it wasn't Small Business. The only two factions I see that benefited were Big Business and the Democratic Party. Big Business was able to pay its top executives their normal salaries and great bonuses, courtesy of the American People, and the Democratic Party took congressional seats and got their candidate in the White House.

Now you may say that it's a stretch to include the Democratic Party in this, but it is now common knowledge that they covered for Freddie and Fannie in 2005 when the looming problem was first presented, and even blocked Congress from doing anything about it. At least on the point of the Democratic Parties culpability our RRWRTS Hosts are correct.

Which brings us to C - RRWRTS Hosts and hypocrisy. First, let's properly define their usage of the word "Conservative" as a Republican in neutral clothing, then let's discuss our "Conservative" Talk Show Hosts and their propensity for talking out of both sides of their mouths.

So on one hand, the reason the economy hit the toilet was because the Mega-Corporations used their "Best and Brightest" to abuse the system, take irresponsible risks with the people's money, and spent too much money on bonuses and pensions. But the Corporation's have the right to charge whatever they want and their CEO's have the right to expect to get paid the wage they demand and get the bonus they expect. It is a sin that the car manufacturers are going under because the Union makes them pay pensions for their retired employees, but it is perfectly fine that an ex-CEO of Exxon makes $350 million for the rest of his life.

They contend that Big Business should be deregulated, even more than it is now, and be given huge tax breaks so they can create more jobs. Yet they were deregulated when this happened, and instead of creating more jobs when Exxon made the most profit in the history of profit, their CEO and Upper Level Management got serious bonuses. As for Tax Breaks, Exxon pays $0 in Property Taxes for their main plant in Baytown, TX and this has been true for decades.

Now for a little truth:

Not one penny of the Bailout Bill went to new employee hires nor was it used to keep lines of credit open to insure the continuation of business and there-by bolstering our economy, like they claimed it would be. While the rich kept getting their paychecks as usual, the rest of America got to go on unemployment. And when gas FINALLY returned to a sane price, every Giant Retailer and Discount Store, e.g., Wal-Mart, raised their prices, even while some people lost their jobs and the rest enjoyed no pay raises or Cost-of-Living increase for at least the second year running. Which, by the way, on national average has been lagging behind inflation since 2002.

But because YOU, the worker that actually does the job that makes the business its money, are not rich, not in charge, and don't own a Mega-Corp, YOU have no right to demand a fair wage for your work. YOU don't have a right to demand whatever YOU want to charge. That right is reserved for the "Rich People" that gave Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Chris Baker, Michael Barry, etc. their jobs. Because like they always say when defending these corporations, "I never got a job from a poor person". Seems to me if the money was more evenly dispersed there wouldn't be any poor people, but why do that, that isn't the new American Capitalism, that isn't what's "good for America".

Do I believe in division of wealth, no, but I do believe in equal pay for an equal amount of work. I have a problem with CEO's and Upper Level Management demanding their own wage based on "Industry Standard" while employees only get what is decided is fair, based on nothing. Why isn't there a system that pays wages based upon the actual benefit to the company, oh that's right, then no Upper Level Management or CEO would get paid. I wouldn't have a problem with 5% of the people in America making 95% of the money if they were doing 95% of the work...and paying 95% of the Income Taxes. The Top 5% pay 68.2% of the Income Taxes collected, so who pays their other 27%?

And before you even say it, I am not against a company making a fair price for goods and services, but how is the cost "fair" when it enables the top guys to make 1000 times, or more, what the average workers at the company earn?

If new businesses are what creates jobs and strengthens our economy, then why do we allow all the money to get accumulated in the hands of a few corporations, expanding a business does less to increase jobs and the economy than a new business. If it takes money to start a business, it only makes sense to disperse the money more evenly so that more people can start new businesses, which is exactly what creates the jobs and strengthens the economy. Kind of a circular, self-obvious logic point, don't you think? Besides, in this day of "down-sizing" and automation to decrease workers while increasing production, or at least profits, where is it that these Mega-Corp's are significantly increasing the amount of jobs in the first place?

Our RRWRTS Hosts are being very disingenuous and Big Business is really raping America for its own profit. Our Fore-Fathers never envisioned America or our economy this way, regardless of what they would have you believe. In fact, Thomas Jefferson made the claim that corporations of his day were already poised to destroy America. So the next time you tune into one of these "Conservative" Talk Shows and hear the rhetoric of how our Founding Fathers and the Constitution are all for our modern Capitalism, you can simply change the the channel and do your part to end the bullsh...
